“Resurrection in Virtual Reality” immerses viewers in a transformative, five-minute experience that transports them back to ancient Israel to witness one of the most pivotal moments in history—the resurrection of Jesus. Following Mary, the mother of Jesus, and Mary Magdalene, the story unfolds as they arrive at the tomb to prepare Jesus’s body for burial, only to find an empty tomb, an earthquake, and a vision of the risen Christ. In a whirlwind of awe and wonder, they rush to spread the incredible news of His resurrection.
Directed by Ryan Bellgardt, founder and creative director of Boiling Point Media, this groundbreaking VR experience combines live-action actors and cutting-edge CGI animation to bring the biblical story to life in an engaging and interactive way. Bellgardt’s expertise in directing special effects-heavy films and leading CGI teams shines through in this immersive project.
This innovative virtual reality experience will be available for in-person viewing during Easter week at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church in downtown and Edmond, where visitors can witness the resurrection story using VR headsets.
